Cycling to help five great charitable causes, our friend and Mondelez Community Champion Michael Huggins will be cycling from Villa Park this Sunday 26th May finishing at Wemley stadium on Monday 27th May.
Whether your an Aston Villa Football Club fan or not, you've got to admit this cycle is definetely challenging and he definately deserves some support?! Well we at Cerebral Palsy Midlands definately think so.

Michael is cycling to raise awareness support and fundraise for his five top nominated charities this year;
Acorns Children’s Hospice
Sandwell Advocacy
Primrose Hospice
Macmillan Cancer Research

Michael had made the commitment before their last played match that if Aston Villa FC won West Bromwich Albion he was going to set off for an ambitious cycle to Wembley Stadium for the Aston Villa play off final. AND they did win 1-0 securing their place in the finals and leaving Michael with a huge challenge ahead!

The journey has been split in to two parts to ensure his arrival for the start of the match, Sunday, Michael will cycle to Milton Keynes (70 miles), stay over for the night and then cycle to Wembley Stadium (50 miles) on Bank Holiday Monday.

To follow his progress Michael said;
"The best way to follow my progress will be on Twitter @michaelah1874 but I must warn you in advance that on Sunday you will most likely see photos of me stopping in coffee shops along the route tucking into a carrot cake than me banging out the miles😂

On Monday if I have not put on too much weight I will be pushing the speed a bit more as I hope to arrive on Wembley Way between 11am and 12pm."

Our Mondelez Community Champion Michael Huggins this Saturday will be cycling around 118 miles from Villa Park, the official Aston Villa Football Club stadium all the way to the Wembley Stadium. Cycling with a ticket to then watch the Championship Play-Off with Aston Villa vs Fulham Match.

This is a huge commitment to helping raise wareness and get support for Cerebral Palsy Midlands. To help him stay motivated over the miles and miles of cycling, you can:

The distance from Villa Park to Wembley is around 118 miles, I will be leaving Villa Park around 4am so I can gain good time on the empty roads and also give myself some time if I have any issues with the bike. The winning team will make it back into the Premier League, so of course I want Villa to win! But supporting the charities that I truly care about is my main motivation and will keep my cycling on Saturday!

Here is an image of our MIchael Huggins just after his interview on Radio WM Friday 25th May, the day before cycling from Villa to Wembley!

When the skys open up we’ll be there When this talk of relegation we’ll be there But when you put it all together No matter what the weather You know we’ll be there we’ll be there Some day your going to do it And we’ll all be there to see When you become the champions will be there A poem from Michael's Childhood. One for Aston Villa!
