CPM Premier on Wednesday the 28th January 2026
'Every Life Has Its Purpose' was created by Being Heard to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the formation of Carlson House School. In its original state, the work consisted of a narration and a collection of 8 songs telling the story of Doctor Earl Carlson and his influence in creating the first school in the UK dedicated to the education and welfare of children with Cerebral Palsy.
Building on skills and knowledge gained through the group's first production, 'Tea with Two Sugars', the group began work in January 2024 with a framework of a plot and the collective decision that they would move forward with the work being an emsemble piece involving more acting, singing and leading together with filming, editing and music preparation.
Above is a portrait of Earl Carlson which currently hangs in the Social and Wellbeing Office.
A message from Joe O'Neill who played Middle-Aged Earl Carlson:
"I have been a member of CPM since 2018 and a fully active participant in the Being Heard music group since I started. I thoroughly enjoyed working on 'Tea with Two Sugars', our first music film; I never thought it would be beaten but I can honestly say that this production of 'Every Life Has Its Purpose' has surpassed every expectation I had of how much I would enjoy making another film."
"It has helped me develop further as an actor, my confidence has grown and I even sang a solo, something I never thought I would do!"
"I have enjoyed progressing my knowledge in terms of music recording and film editing and look forward to whatever the Being Heard music group decides to work on next! I am very excited for my family and friends to finally experience our fabulous film, 'Every life Has Its Purpose"
Enjoy!
Billy Abbotts who played Young Earl Carlson said: "'Every Life Has Its Purpose' is the first full length musical film I have contributed to and I have loved playing the part of the Young Earl Carlson! It has encouraged my love of singing and developed my acting ability and I look forward to taking part in the next Being Heard project". "I very much hope you enjoy the results of our hard work and thank to everyone for their support".
We would love for you to join us in acknowledging this massive achievement, it will be a moment you will not forget!
