A meet up with Laura from UP - The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement
Yesterday we had a lovely visit with Laura, Community Manager at UP - The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement, who travelled a fair distance to come and see us at CPM and look at all the ways we could collaborate and connect.
UP – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement, is a National Charity, which works to improve support and services while ensuring the voices of adults with cerebral palsy are heard. UP have also just launched their first issue of UP Magazine.
Emma Livingstone and Miriam Creeger are the UP, co-founders, they found there was a gap in support for adults, yet CP doesn't stop at the age of 18, its a life long condition, hence they created UP to raise awareness and hopefully create change.
Laura joined the charity UP in September 2025 and was keen to build connections and to look for ways of collaboration with other charities and organisations. This means we can share successes and support each other and get behind mutual cerebral palsy awareness campaigns.
UP has started a new online community for adults with cerebral palsy. It includes a book club, art club, and mindfulness sessions. Everything is free to join. Find out more here: https://upmovement.org.uk/virtual-community-centre/
Should you wish to join any online activities, you will need to sign up as a member, which is FREE!
