Cerebral Palsy Midlands Nominated for National Diversity Award – Please Vote
We are incredibly proud to announce that Cerebral Palsy Midlands has been nominated for the "Community Organisation Award" at the National Diversity Awards 2026.
This national recognition celebrates organisations across the UK who are making a real difference in championing equality, inclusion and community impact.
For nearly 80 years, CPM has supported adults with cerebral palsy and complex disabilities to live full, independent and meaningful lives. Today, our community includes around 45 citizens who access our services each week, with 30–33 attending daily at our centre in Harborne, Birmingham.
More than just a service, CPM is a community.
With a dedicated team of around 20 staff, specialist tutors and volunteers, we provide personalised support, creative opportunities and meaningful social connections for adults with complex physical needs including:
mobility impairments
speech and communication difficulties
dysphagia
associated learning disabilities

Our work follows the social model of disability, actively challenging the barriers that still prevent disabled people from fully participating in society.
Every day we see our citizens achieve incredible things.
From enjoying accessible holidays, achieving goals in 'Movement in Water' or horse riding sessions and community activities, our citizens continue to inspire us with their determination and creativity.
Recently, our Being Heard Music Group created, composed, sung and filmed a powerful musical film titled “Every Life Has its Purpose”, showcasing the voices, talents and stories of people with disabilities and the importance of inclusion in our society.
As we approach our 80th anniversary as an organisation, this nomination is a wonderful moment to celebrate the impact of our community and the achievements of the people we support.
