What. A. Night!
Our annual Weoley Big Night Out once again proved that Cerebral Palsy Midlands knows how to party - and that when our citizens, families, carers, staff and friends come together, no one is left on the sidelines. From the first song to the last raffle ticket, the room was full of laughter, singing, dancing and colour.
One of our citizens summed it up perfectly:
“It was one of the best Big Night Outs I’ve been to… this couldn’t happen without you all.”
Fun, Freedom and a Full Dance Floor
Accessible social nights like this matter. For many of the adults we support, going out isn’t as simple as picking a venue - transport, accessibility and support all have to line up. At Weoley Big Night Out, the dance floor belonged to everybody. Drag queen Sara Casdick brought the laughs, ThunderChunky kept the music rocking, and Mal’nificent Room Decoration and Helen Clinton’s Catering made the venue look and feel like a proper celebration.
Sara Casdick needed another Drag Queen and Dave was made up to be Denise.
Thunder Chunky had everyone on the dance floor!

An Unforgettable Raffle
And can we talk about that raffle?! Thanks to incredible generosity, our raffle raised an amazing £868 for Cerebral Palsy Midlands - money that helps us keep creating inclusive, joyful nights out for disabled adults. Charity raffles are one of the simplest, most exciting ways for communities to raise funds while having fun together.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes, including:
Barefoot Yoga Harborne - x3 Welcome Offers (30 days unlimited classes, worth £35 each)
Irwin Mitchell - £100 One4All Gift Card, plus staff volunteers on the night
IL Solutions Ltd (Ian Lamb) - two 50” TVs

Pho, Harborne - £30 gift voucher

Sponsors, Carers and Volunteers – You Made It Possible
We couldn’t have hosted the night without Weoley Castle Social Club, who gifted us the room, and major sponsors Clairfield and Tom & Barbara Maddocks, whose generous donations helped make tickets and carer places affordable.
Huge thanks also to Lawrence Norton, our BNI friends (including Michelle Davies Rounds, Wendy Jones and Dominic Quinney), our wonderful carers, CPM staff, and volunteers (including Zanna and our fantastic Irwin Mitchell volunteers), who worked tirelessly before, during and after the event.
PIctured above Irwin Mitchell volunteers Maddison and Matthew.
See You on the Dance Floor in 2027
From the messages we’ve received, one thing is clear: people are already asking for next year’s Big Night Out. So, get your fancy-dress ideas ready - we’re already counting down to our next Big Night Out: 90s Fancy Dress Disco Party on Saturday 15th May 2027.
Thank you to every single person who bought a ticket, donated a prize, sponsored, performed, worked, danced and celebrated with us. Nights like this show exactly what Cerebral Palsy Midlands is all about: community, joy and making sure disabled adults can live life and party without barriers.
