Wheel'n'Walk | Birmingham's Walk for Inclusion | 2025 Sponsored Walk Event

Despite a little drizzle in the air, spirits were anything but dampened at this year’s Wheel’n’Walk Sponsored Walk — held at Cannon Hill Park and attended by a beautiful mix of families, charities, carers, and community members walking side by side for inclusion. And what a success it was!

We’re thrilled to share that Cerebral Palsy Midlands has raised an amazing £2,244.30, with sponsorship still coming in!
Every step taken, every pound donated, and every cheer offered contributed to a shared mission: to promote visibility, empowerment and accessibility for people with disabilities across Birmingham.

Thank you to Craig Keogh for creating this film showcasing this incredible event.

A Powerful Display of Unity

This year’s event brought together ten incredible Birmingham-based charities, each walking with pride and purpose:

Together, we shared stories, strength and solidarity.

Inclusive Energy from Start to Finish

The day began with an energetic and fully inclusive warm-up led by FreeWheelin Dance, followed by the powerful beats of the Dhol Crew – igniting the crowd with rhythm and excitement before the walk began.

Many participants also enjoyed a lap of the park on adaptive bicycles provided by ParkRide, ensuring the event was inclusive for everyone. And just when we thought the rain might slow us down, Fitnniss CIC stepped in with drumming, singing and energy on the Bandstand — lifting spirits and keeping the momentum going.

Stalls, Smiles & So Much More

The event was bursting with colour and connection, thanks to local community organisations who joined us with their vibrant stalls and activities:

Fitnniss CIC • Blue Badgers • Birmingham City Football Club • Northfield NNS • Ways for Wellbeing • BeeZee Bodies • St John’s Ambulance • Forward Carers • Arts Therapies UK

Each added their own spark to the event, creating a welcoming, informative, and family-friendly atmosphere for all.

A Huge Thank You to Our Sponsors

We couldn’t have done this without our generous partners:
Irwin Mitchell – who provided medals, certificates, face painting, goody bags, raffle prizes, and refreshments. Their team brought heart and hands-on help throughout the day.
Rosalie Reading from Irwin Mitchell shared:
“Thank you for allowing Irwin Mitchell to be a part of it. My favourite event of the year – so much hard work goes into it. Well done to all involved.”
Revoloo – who brought along their fully accessible mobile ‘Changing Places’ toilet facility, ensuring dignified support for all attendees. This essential addition was proudly sponsored by Northfield NNS.
The RevoLOO team told us:
“Fantastic day! Thank you for having us there.”
And of course, the Dhol Crew, who said:
“Thank you so much for having us back at this wonderful event.”

Final Fundraising Total (So Far!)

We’re over the moon to share that £2,244.30 has been raised for Cerebral Palsy Midlands, with Gift Aid still to be claimed and more sponsorships expected to come in. If you haven’t handed in your sponsorship yet, please do so by the end of June. Donations can also still be made online – every penny makes a difference.
