Friends of Cerebral Palsy Midlands, it is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of a very special person to us, Jeff Young. Jeff had been a citizen and member of our services for around twenty four years and has made many friends here.

Jeff was a known most for his work in the art room and his paintings. It is thought he had between 500 and 700 paintings and was always thinking of his next creative piece. Painting inspired him and got him out into the local community. Every piece of work was a snapshot he had from a memory, a community, fields, country parks, pubs, Birmingham Canals, Stables, Tin Mines and more.

Currently three framed paintings are being exhibited in 'Silver and Love' on Harborne High Street ahead of an up and coming annual community event, 'Harborne Artsmile', taking place on Saturday 21st September 2019. The jewellers were keen to exhibit work from local artists and it seemed like the right time to showcase Jeff's paintings in his memory.

He was a lovely man and CPM became his second family. His love of arts also made him an enthusiastic member of 'The Being Heard Music Group' family.

Jeff Young's funeral will take place on Friday 13th September 2019 at 12.15pm at Lodge Hill Cemetery and Crematorium, Weoley Park Road, Birmingham, B29 5AA.

Jeff Young left a legacy of artwork and memories with his friends here at CPM, he will be greatly missed.
Here are just a few more pictures that we remember Jeff by and just a tiny selection of paintings from his collection.
