CPM needs your vote for the Charity Film Awards

Help Being Heard Music Group get votes for their Creative Musical Film "A Tea With Two Sugars"

We are thrilled to share that our 'Being Heard' Music Group's musical film, "Tea With Two Sugars," has been shortlisted in the Longform £100,000-£1 Million category of the 2024 Smiley Charity Film Awards. We would like to express our gratitude to 'National Lottery' 'Awards for all' Community Fund Grants for funding this project, which is a collaboration between our 'Being Heard' Music Group and 'Quench Arts'. Musical Director Richard Ganner and the 'Being Heard' team members have directed the music of this original musical.

"Tea With Two Sugars" is a (Dis)Ability Awareness Musical that aims to break down barriers and help the community communicate with people with CP in the future.
The musical deals with inclusion and the issues that many people still face in their everyday lives, such as the limitations of public transport and people's attitudes and biases towards those with disabilities. Our 'Being Heard' music group members hope that this piece can inspire people to rise against prejudice and think about their own attitudes towards people who are not as able as they are.

We are delighted to announce that we are officially a finalist in the competition. We would like to thank all our supporters for their enthusiasm and for voting for “Tea With Two Sugars”. However, we need your support once more. Our film will now be sent to the judges, who will score it and decide the winning films in each category.

The second round of public voting will open on Wednesday 14th February, timed with Valentine's Day so that you can ask people to show your film some love. This round of voting will give our charity, Cerebral Palsy Midlands, the opportunity to win the People's Choice award, which is a separate award from the judges' scoring.
